Life-long-learning, continuous learning: Concepts related to the need to learn throughout life Meta-competence: the so called 21st Century skills: e.g., communication, collaboration, creativity, complex problemsolving. They are skills that are required to succeed in the 21st century work life and in society, where global megatrends such as climate change, globalization, urbanization, aging, technological development etc. have an impact on the way we live and work. Competence-based curricula can address these competences better than traditional curricula Online pedagogies: Official definition + Communicative virtual learning space (cf. Sjølie et al 2018) Peer learning: official definition + sharing everyday challenges and best practices with colleagues from different universities Problem-based learning (PBL): A studentcentred method where students are given a problem in the form of a trigger. Then they use the steps of inquiry learning to solve the problem, deciding on a goal, looking for sources, learning about the topic and then discussing their findings and coming to a conclusion together Quadruple Helix: A model of innovation where the public is included into the triple helix Triple helix: A model of innovation where interactions take place between a university, the industry and government Work-integrated learning (WIL): Learning that links the student and the workplace, combining academic learning and the practice of work Work Integrated Education (WIE): All teaching and learning activities that connect industry with the academic programme to enhance student work readiness, develop necessary competencies, create potential employment opportunities and stimulate entrepreneurial thinking. 102
